Epithalon, also known as Epitalon or Epithalone, is a synthetic tetrapeptide with the amino-acid sequence Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly, commonly abbreviated as AEDG. Its molecular formula is C₁₄H₂₂N₄O₉, with a reported molecular weight of approximately 390.35 g/mol.
In controlled laboratory environments, Epithalon may be investigated in connection with peptide signaling, gene-expression pathways, cellular aging models, chromosomal stability, oxidative-stress responses, and telomere-associated biochemical processes.

Published preclinical research has explored possible relationships between Epithalon and telomerase activity. However, these findings do not establish that the compound extends telomeres, slows aging, increases longevity, crosses the blood-brain barrier, or provides therapeutic benefits in humans or animals.
Claims concerning anti-aging effects, lifespan extension, genomic protection, pineal-gland restoration, improved sleep, or treatment of age-related conditions have therefore been omitted because such language could imply established efficacy or intended human use.
FDA has stated that compounded products containing Epitalon may pose immunogenicity risks due to potential aggregation and peptide-related impurities. The agency has also stated that it lacks sufficient safety information to determine whether Epitalon could cause harm when administered to humans.
FDA reviewed Epitalon-related bulk substances, including Epitalon free base and Epitalon acetate, during a Pharmacy Compounding Advisory Committee meeting in July 2026. Regulatory review or consideration for a compounding list does not constitute FDA approval and does not establish that independently supplied Epithalon is safe, effective, sterile, or suitable for administration.
The terms Epithalon, Epitalon, Epitalon acetate, and chemically modified forms should not automatically be treated as interchangeable. Sequence, terminal structure, salt form, purity, identity, and composition should be verified using batch-specific analytical documentation.
Storage & handling
Before reconstitution. Keep the sealed vial cool and dark. Lyophilized peptides are stable this way for the period stated on the certificate.
Reconstitution. Add bacteriostatic water slowly against the inside wall of the vial. Swirl gently to dissolve — never shake, as agitation can damage the peptide chain.
After reconstitution. Store refrigerated and use within the window appropriate for the compound under study. Do not freeze once in solution.
